Practically Learning

Practically Learning seek to develop strategies that strengthen connections between schools and their communities to maximise the learning potential of children. At the core of the Practically Learning program is the 3 learning sectors: Connect, Engage, Inspire.

The existing logo was to be retained, however the Connect Engage Inspire sub brand and 3 learning sector brands required development. These were to function as a set under the umbrella of the primary logo and also individually within their own environments.

DELIVERABLES

Brand Architecture, brand strategy, publication design

As the primary brand theme we developed undulating ribbons of colour to create movement, dimension and playfulness. They suggest the outdoors, dirt, hills and sky - implying the joy of children playing outside and learning from their environment.

The ribbons could be used as a standalone graphic or be used to frame photography.

The sub brand is created from 6 identical shapes where the negative space forms a star. The interconnectedness of the system is reflected in that if any of the individual shapes are removed then the whole no longer functions.

The system then includes separate ‘logos’ for each of the sectors. Similar shapes to the primary logo form new icons. The shapes develop as they progress, from 3 shapes and a triangle space for Connect, 4 shapes and a square for Engage to finally 5 shapes and a 5 pointed star for Inspire.

The new system was rolled out across various items - A4 and A5 flyers, eBooks, banners.
